How Jagrik AI fills your e-Jagriti form for you

How the Jagrik AI browser extension for Chrome and Firefox fills the e-Jagriti complaint form for you, matched to the portal's own dropdown lists.

Typing a consumer complaint into the e-Jagriti portal by hand is tedious in a specific way: the form does not take free text for state, district or case category. Each of those fields only accepts an exact match from the portal's own dropdown lists. Get the spelling wrong, or use a name the portal retired years ago, and the field quietly rejects it. This is the e-Jagriti auto fill problem our browser extension, Jagrik AI - Consumer Forum Assistant, exists to solve. It is available on the Chrome Web Store and on Firefox Add-ons.

What it actually does

Once your complaint is drafted in Jagrik AI, click "Auto-fill on e-Jagriti." Jagrik AI prepares your case for the portal and opens e-Jagriti in a new tab. Sign in to e-Jagriti as usual, click the Jagrik AI icon in your browser toolbar and press Sync. Your case loads into a Jagrik AI panel next to the form. On each step of the filing, press "Auto-fill this step" and it fills in the complainant and opposite party details, the dates, the amount and the case category.

Every value is also listed in the panel with a copy button, so if a field needs a manual touch, the right text is one click away.

Your case is matched to the portal's lists before it arrives

That matching step matters more than it sounds. A lot of Indian place names have changed, or have more than one common spelling: Gurgaon is Gurugram on the portal now, Mohali is listed as S.A.S Nagar, Bangalore is Bengaluru Urban. Before your case reaches the extension, Jagrik AI checks every state, district and category against the portal's current lists, using a table of known aliases and a fuzzy-matching step behind it. So "Bombay" still lands on the right district, even though no official form has used that name in decades.

Dates, amounts and phone numbers get cleaned up too

The portal is also particular about format: dates as DD/MM/YYYY, amounts as whole rupees with no currency symbol or commas, mobile numbers as a plain ten digits with no country code. Jagrik AI normalizes all of this before it reaches the form, so a case drafted with "₹18,500" and "+91 98765 43210" arrives on e-Jagriti as "18500" and "9876543210", exactly how the portal expects them.

When there is no confident match

Sometimes a district or category genuinely cannot be matched, usually because the name in your case does not exist anywhere on the portal's list. Jagrik AI does not guess. It flags the value as a warning when it prepares your case, so you can pick the right option on the form yourself. A wrong guess on a filing form is worse than a field you notice and fix.

You stay in control of the filing

The extension only ever fills in your own case, fetched through your own signed-in Jagrik AI account. It does not upload documents or submit anything for you. At the upload step, the panel lists your documents in the order e-Jagriti expects, and you upload each file yourself. At the end, you review the case preview and press Final Submit on e-Jagriti. The point of e-Jagriti auto fill is to remove the typing, not the judgment call of checking that what you are filing is correct.

Setting it up

  1. Install Jagrik AI - Consumer Forum Assistant from the Chrome Web Store. Edge and Brave can install it from the Chrome Web Store too.
  2. Sign in to Jagrik AI in the same browser.
  3. Open your complaint, generate your documents and click "Auto-fill on e-Jagriti."
  4. On e-Jagriti, click the Jagrik AI toolbar icon, press Sync, then use "Auto-fill this step" on each page.

On Chrome, your case opens in the browser's side panel. On Firefox, it appears as a panel on the page itself.

What it can see, and what it cannot

The extension can only read e-Jagriti's pages and call back to Jagrik AI for your case data, using the account you are already signed into. It has no access to your email, your other tabs, or any site other than e-Jagriti and jagrik.com. It cannot see anyone else's case, because the case it fetches is tied to your account. Your case data moves only between your Jagrik AI account and your e-Jagriti tab, never to a third party.

Why this needed building at all

e-Jagriti's dropdown lists change as districts are renamed and categories are updated, so keeping our matching accurate means re-checking those lists against what the portal actually accepts. We built this because the alternative, typing a long government form by hand and getting silently rejected on a renamed district, is the kind of friction that makes people give up on filing altogether. e-Jagriti auto fill exists to make sure a correct, well-drafted complaint actually makes it onto the portal instead of stalling at the form.

If you have not drafted a complaint yet, start one here. The auto-fill option appears once your documents are ready.
