This Privacy Policy explains how Jagrik AI ("we", "us"), built by Lev-Tech, collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our platform. It is written to meet our obligations as a Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). Jagrik AI is independent of, and not affiliated with, the Government of India or e-Jagriti.
1. Personal Data We Collect
- Account data: your name and email address, received from Google when you sign in with Google, or the email address you enter for email-code sign-in.
- Complaint data: what you tell our AI assistant about your dispute (for example the opposite party, amounts paid, dates and what went wrong), the case details we extract from it, and the documents we generate for you.
- Evidence you upload: bills, receipts, screenshots, letters and other files you attach to a complaint.
- Lawyer conversations: messages between you and an advocate you have chosen to share your case with.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and timestamps in server logs, and cookies needed to keep you signed in.
We do not collect passwords or payment card details.
2. Why We Use It (Purpose)
We process your personal data only to:
- sign you in and keep your account and complaints saved;
- help you prepare a consumer complaint and generate the documents needed to file it on e-Jagriti;
- connect you with an advocate, only if you ask for one and give consent;
- keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Consent
By signing in, you consent to the processing described in this policy. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (see section 7). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, but we will stop processing and erase your data as described below. Sharing your case with an advocate needs a separate, explicit consent, which you can revoke at any time from the complaint page.
4. Who We Share It With
We use the following service providers (Data Processors) to run the platform. They process data only on our instructions:
- Google: sign-in (OAuth) and the Gemini AI models that power the chat and document drafting. We use Google's paid API tier, under which your prompts and files are not used to train Google's models.
- Supabase: our database, hosted in Mumbai, India.
- Cloudflare: network security and storage of uploaded evidence (R2).
- Amazon Web Services: application hosting.
- Resend: delivery of sign-in codes by email.
- DuckDuckGo: if web search is turned on, search queries (not your identity) are sent to fetch public information.
An advocate sees your case, chats and evidence only after you explicitly grant access, and loses access as soon as you revoke it. Some providers may process data outside India, as permitted under the DPDP Act.
5. How Long We Keep It
- Uploaded evidence is automatically deleted 180 days after upload.
- Account and complaint data are kept while your account is active, and erased when you delete your account.
- Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
6. Security
All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. Uploaded files are kept in a private storage bucket and are only served after checking that you (or an advocate you've authorised) are allowed to see them. Our hosting, database and storage providers hold independent security certifications. No system is completely secure; if a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required by the DPDP Act.
7. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of your personal data: use Profile → Download my data.
- Correct your data: edit your name on the Profile page, and your complaint details in the chat.
- Erase your data: use Profile → Delete my account. This permanently removes your account, complaints, chats, uploaded evidence and lawyer conversations.
- Grievance redressal: contact our Grievance Officer (section 9).
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity, by writing to us.
8. Children
Jagrik AI is meant for users aged 18 and above. If you are under 18, please use it only with a parent or guardian, who must consent on your behalf.
9. Grievance Officer & Contact
For questions, requests or complaints about your personal data, write to our Grievance Officer at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will change the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes we will notify you in the app.
