A Myntra complaint usually falls into one of a few patterns: a refund that has not arrived after a return, a return that was refused even though the policy allows it, or the wrong product delivered. If that is your situation, there is a clear order of steps, and consumer commissions have heard cases like yours. This guide explains both.

The usual problems

  • A refund that is delayed or never arrives after a return pickup.
  • A return or exchange refused despite the return window on the product page.
  • The wrong product, a different brand, size or item, delivered.
  • A price or MRP on the product that does not match the listing.
  • An order cancelled by the seller after payment.

What consumer commissions have said

These are examples of orders reported in the press. Every case depends on its own facts and evidence, so treat them as illustrations and not as promises.

  • Bengaluru. The Bangalore Urban II Additional District Commission held Myntra liable for deficiency in service for failing to honour the 14 day return policy published on its website, and for charging more than the MRP on the packaging. It directed a refund of ₹17,999, with ₹5,000 compensation and ₹2,000 for costs.
  • Udupi. The Udupi District Commission held Myntra and Titan accountable after a watch of a different brand was delivered instead of the Tommy Hilfiger watch ordered. It directed a refund of ₹15,495 with 10 per cent annual interest.
  • Chandigarh. The Chandigarh District Commission held Myntra liable for deficiency in service and unfair trade practices after a buyer who ordered shoes was sent ladies' sandals.

Step 1: use the app, and keep the policy

Raise the issue through the order page in the app. Take a screenshot of the return and refund policy shown for your product, with the date. Commissions look at what the platform itself promised, so quote its own words.

Step 2: the grievance officer

Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, an e-commerce entity must have a grievance officer who acknowledges a complaint within 48 hours and redresses it within one month. The officer's details are published on the platform's policy or contact pages. Write to that address with your order number, dates and the relief you want, and keep the reply.

Step 3: the National Consumer Helpline

You can also register on the National Consumer Helpline, at 1915 or consumerhelpline.gov.in. It forwards complaints to companies and keeps a record you can refer to later.

If the matter is still open after the grievance officer's month, send a short legal notice with a 15 day deadline. See our consumer complaint letter guide for the format.

Step 5: file a consumer complaint

File in the District Commission where you live under Section 34(2)(d). In your Myntra complaint, name Myntra and, where it matters, the brand or seller. Claim the refund, interest and a reasonable sum for the trouble and cost. Complaints up to ₹5 lakh carry no filing fee, and most fashion orders are far below that. See consumer court fees. The time limit is two years under Section 69. See the consumer complaint time limit guide.

Evidence to keep

  • the order confirmation and invoice,
  • screenshots of the listing, with the description, size and MRP,
  • an unboxing video, especially for a wrong product,
  • the return request and the pickup proof,
  • every chat and email, and your grievance reference numbers.

The same steps work for other apps

The route is the same for Ajio, Nykaa, Flipkart and other shopping platforms. Compare the problem with that platform's own published policy, then use the grievance officer, the helpline, a notice and a complaint. For the general version, see refund not received from Amazon or Flipkart.

Jagrik AI can draft your notice and complaint documents from a chat, and the extension fills the e-Jagriti portal form for you, with you pressing the final submit.

A Myntra complaint is strongest when it quotes the policy shown on the order page and attaches clear proof of what arrived.
