Consumer Complaint Generator India: What to Check First
A consumer complaint generator saves time, but only if the output matches what the Commission expects. Here is what to check before you file.
A consumer complaint generator turns what happened to you into the documents a Consumer Commission expects. Used well it saves days of drafting. Used carelessly it can send you to the wrong portal or put a wrong date in a legal document. This guide shows what a generator should give you and what you must check yourself.
Start with the right portal
Some generator pages still tell you to register on e-Daakhil. That is out of date. The e-Jagriti portal replaced e-Daakhil on 1 January 2025, and complaints are filed at e-jagriti.gov.in. If a tool sends you to the old site, treat everything else it says with caution. Our post on e-Daakhil to e-Jagriti explains the change.
What a complete set of documents contains
For the e-Jagriti portal you prepare a set of documents. Jagrik AI produces these from a chat:
- an Index of the documents,
- a Proforma, which is the complaint form,
- a Synopsis with your dates and events,
- a Memo of Parties,
- the Consumer Complaint itself, with an affidavit you get notarized.
A generator that gives you only a single block of text is not enough. Check that yours produces all of them in the format the portal accepts.
What a generator cannot decide for you
Be aware of the things that need your judgment.
- Which Commission. It depends on the amount you paid. District covers up to ₹50 lakh, State above ₹50 lakh up to ₹2 crore, National above ₹2 crore. See which consumer commission to approach.
- Whether you are in time. Section 69 gives two years from the cause of action. Read the consumer complaint time limit guide if you are close.
- What to claim. Refund, interest, compensation and costs must match your facts and your documents.
- The truth of every fact. Only you can confirm the dates, amounts and names.
How to check the output
Before you file, go through the generated documents line by line.
- Match every date, amount and invoice number to your own papers.
- Check the names and addresses of every opposite party.
- Confirm the claim adds up and matches what you want.
- Make sure the documents do not state anything you cannot prove.
- Read the affidavit carefully, because you swear to it.
How Jagrik AI approaches it
You describe your case in a chat in your own words. Jagrik AI asks only for what is missing, calculates limitation and the right Commission in code, drafts your legal notice and complaint, and runs a second review pass that flags anything unverified before you notarize. Our browser extension can then fill the e-Jagriti portal form for you, and you always press the final submit. You can start the chat and the legal notice for free. The filing documents and the auto fill hand-off are a one-time ₹299 for each complaint. It helps you prepare and does not replace a lawyer for complex cases.
Whichever consumer complaint generator you use, the checks above take about fifteen minutes and can save you a rejected filing.
Frequently asked questions
Is the complaint generator the same as filing?
No. It prepares your documents. You still file on the e-Jagriti portal, pay any fee, and submit.
Which portal do I file on?
The e-Jagriti portal at e-jagriti.gov.in. It replaced e-Daakhil on 1 January 2025.
Can a generator tell me which Commission to file in?
It can suggest one from the amount you paid, but check the rule yourself: District up to ₹50 lakh, State above that up to ₹2 crore, National above ₹2 crore.
Do I still need a notary?
You need to get the affidavit notarized. Our filing guide explains the steps.
Can I rely on a generator if the dates look wrong?
No. Correct them from your documents before you file. A wrong date can hurt your case.
